Frank Schweikhardt has rarely stayed in the same geographic location for more than six months at a time. Whether he s driving a truckload of fireworks around the Bible Belt or cruising around southeast Asia on a used motorcycle, Frank is perfectly adept at soaking up the world. On Kitchen Table, he applies that sense of wonder and exploration to his music for the first time. Where his previous efforts focused inward, this time around he is as meticulous and intentional as ever but has turned his attention outward. The result is a record that is heavier and more band-oriented, but still possesses the same hazy undercurrent and relaxed atmosphere that made him famous. His hushed vocals and attention to detail are perfectly balanced by melodic guitar lines, deep grooves in the rhythm, and tasteful splashes of dreamy synth and vibraphone.
